Lucy Eneida (Centeno) O’Leary passed gently from this world on March 18th, 2026 while surrounded by her loving family. She was 82.

Born on August 26th 1943 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to Antonio Centeno and Flor Maria Montalvo, she was the youngest of fourchildren. At four, Lucy moved with her family to New York City. She spent her formative years going between Puerto Rico and New York City and loved both places dearly.

She later moved to Philadelphia and after some time met and was united in holy matrimony to Roy J. O’Leary. Their marriage of fifty years was filled with both love and laughter.

For a number of years, Lucy owned and operated her clothing store, the Sunshine Outlet. She later took her well-honed talent for retail sales to work at American Chicle Company, much to the delight of the sweet tooths of her kids and grandkids.

Lucy enjoyed different artistic crafts, and though she sold some of these charming items––and would often contemplate making things she found at stores for much cheaper––she also created precious giftsfor her family. She continued this tradition of crafting alongside her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her artistic talents, Lucy was well-known forcooking delicious Puerto Rican foods. She taught these recipes to her daughters, mostly by taste. Lucy loved and spent countless hours decorating and perfecting the beautiful home she lived in for nearly fifty years with her loving husband Roy. After their children moved out, they shared this home with several beloved feathered and fur-covered friends.

Lucy was a devoted Catholic and a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. She attended many Christian retreats and made a pilgrimage to Fatima where she devoted each step up the mountain to one of her children or grandchildren. Lucy dearly loved celebrating and honoring Christian holidays and will always be remembered by her family as the best Christmas tree decorator in town.

Lucy’s beautiful life and devotion to family will be lovingly carried on by her surviving children, Michelle Muñoz Talcott(husband, David), Diana Muñoz Stewart (husband, Bill), Mary Galpin(partner, David), Carolyn O’Leary Peacock (husband, Keith), and Stephen O’Leary, along with her fourteen grandkids, three great-grandchildren, and her beloved sister, Lydia.

Lucy is predeceased by her husband Roy O’Leary, her sister Haydee Muñoz, and her brother Rafael Centeno.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, March 27th, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Robert’s Bellarmine, 856 Euclid Ave, Warrington, PA 18976. Her interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
