Miriam M. Broderick
February 14, 1940 — May 25, 2026
Haddonfield
Miriam (nee Mundy) on May 25, 2026. Daughter of the late Paul and Margaret Mundy, beloved mother of Joseph (Karen) and Sean Broderick. Loving grandmother of Kelly, Kristen, Shannon and Kaleigh Broderick. Sister of Paul (Mary Ellen) Mundy, Kathleen (Walter) Martin and Kevin (Roberta) Mundy.
Miriam was born on February 14, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was raised in Philadelphia and attended Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, where she excelled in choir & theater and graduated in 1957. After high school, Miriam married Joseph Broderick and began raising her family in Northeast Philadelphia before later moving to Barrington, New Jersey.
Upon achieving sobriety at the age of thirty-eight, which she faithfully maintained for the remaining forty-eight years of her life, Miriam dedicated herself to helping others overcome addiction and find hope in recovery. She worked in a variety of entry-level and internship positions in the addictions field, gaining the experience and certifications required to build her career. Miriam later earned her undergraduate degree from Saint Joseph’s University and went on to receive her Master’s degree in Theology from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, now known as Palmer Theological Seminary.
After completing her graduate studies, Miriam established a private counseling practice where she provided addiction, marriage, and family counseling for many years, devoting her life to helping individuals and families heal and rebuild their lives.
In 1998, Miriam founded My Father’s House, a nonprofit substance abuse and rehabilitation center that reflected her lifelong commitment to serving others with compassion, faith, and understanding.
Miriam will always be remembered for her unwavering faith in God, tireless dedication, deep compassion, and endless love for those less fortunate and the people whose lives she touched.
